<div itemprop="description">Vivian Ishmael Winston ~ November 24, 1932 &ndash; January 17, 2014 <br /> <br />Mr. Vivian Ishmael Winston was born on November 24, 1932 in St. Joseph. He was the son of Clara Carbon and Harry Percy Winston. He grew up in the town of Portsmouth and attended the Dominica Grammar School. <br />Before immigrating to Toronto, Canada in October 1976, Vivian was the Acting Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Home Affairs, Health and Welfare. <br />He had a long career with the Toronto Transit Commission from 1978 until his retirement in 1999. <br />Mr. Winston is survived by four children ~ Rolston Winston of New Jersey, Alison Liverpool of Dominica,Yma Swasey of Pickering, Ontario and Beryl Winston of New York. Five grandchildren ~ Al-Jai and Jynelle Liverpool, Ryan Winston and Yannis and Noah Swasey. He is also survived by two siblings, Austin Winston who resides in Goodwill, Dominca and Rowena Lewis of Fort Lauderdale, Florida. <br />Vivian will be fondly remembered by his nieces and nephews, and numerous other relatives and friends in Dominica, Canada, the US and England. <br /></div>
